Thankful Thursday 21

There are few things in the world that force us to expand our mind and explore worlds of our own imagination.

Reading is one of those things.

I’ve probably said it before, but I’m thankful for books. Especially good, long books, packed with emotional turmoil, action and adventure, and self-sacrificial moments.

Over the years I’ve read lots of books, and some of them have stuck with me and changed my perspective. Some of them were thrilling trilogies, others were captivating stand-alones. Some entailed the deepest thoughts of the main characters, others were filled with action. Books change and flow with each page, and each genre is so diverse. They vary from beautifully illustrated children’s books to dictionary-thick mystery novels.

But one thing that doesn’t vary is that they each come alive when I start to read.

And that’s why I’m thankful for reading.
